[size=1.2em]The Adastra superyacht is a floating pleasure palace that would fit as comfortably in outer space as it would on the open sea.

[size=1.2em]And as these amazing new pictures show, she is equipped to entertain a billionaire with even the highest of standards.

[size=1.2em]She is the the new pet of [size=1.2em]Hong Kong based shipping magnate Anto Marden, whose uses for her may include - among other things - gliding between the two tropical islands he already owns off the coast of Indonesia.

[size=1.2em]Designed by Sussex-based yacht designer [size=1.2em]John Shuttleworth, the Adastra is so high-tech, it can even be controlled remotely at the touch of an iPad[size=1.2em]... as long as you don't get any further away than 50 metres[size=1.2em].[size=1.2em]
   

Owner: Anto Marden, who is based in Hong Kong, made his fortune in the shipping industry.

[size=1.2em]The yacht's high-concept, space-age look is no gimmick. The shape has been specially developed to cut through waves as it glides across the high seas.

[size=1.2em]Described as 『one of the world's most amazing super yachts』, [size=1.2em]Adastra, unveiled yesterday in Hong Kong, took five years to build, is 42.5 metres long, 16 metres wide and weighs 52tons.

[size=1.2em]Her enormous petrol tank coupled with her dynamic sailing efficiency allows the Adastra to travel up to 4,000 miles without refuelling - the same distance from London to New York.

[size=1.2em]The hull of the Adastra is built from glass and Kevlar and can house nine guests and six crew[size=1.2em]men. The deck saloon has a panoramic view while the [size=1.2em]open cockpit has sofas on both sides. The open deck running aft alsohas a door that hinges out to create a bathing platform.

[size=1.2em]The yacht has an integrated ship monitoring system, andcan even be controlled with an Apple iPad within a 50-metre range.

[size=1.2em]Adastra is powered by one Caterpillar C18 engine of 1150hpat 2300 rpm and has 2 Yanmar 110hp @ 3200 rpm outrigger engines.

[size=1.2em]Last year Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich bought a £300 million superyacht with [size=1.2em]two swimming pools, two helipads, a gym, hair salon, dancefloor and submarine.

[size=1.2em]Eclipse has [size=1.2em]plenty of room to entertain friends, with 15 double bedroom cabins all equipped with their own luxury bathrooms and 6ft wide television screens. Parties on the 533ft yacht are guaranteed to stay private, as it』s fitted with an 『anti-paparazzi shield』 that fires a laser beam of light at cameras to ruin photographs.

Overview





Described byBoat International as "one of the world's most amazing super yachts, that could spell thefuture for efficient long range cruising", the striking 42.5m Trimaran Adastra has recently been launched for Hong Kong clients Anto and Elaine Marden.

"Adastra" is the result of more than five years of design and discussion with the owners, to builda yacht that meets the needs of a very experienced ocean voyaging couple and their family, and toprovide the level of comfort and style that would be expected in a yacht of this class and size. Noeffort has been spared in the challenge to produce a beautiful yacht that will have low fuelconsumption and yet provide excellent sea keeping qualities and luxurious accommodation. "Adastra"takes the power trimaran concept further than has ever been attempted before, previous vessels like"Earthrace" and "Cable and Wireless" were stripped out record breaking machines. The challenge ofturning this concept into a viable luxury yacht has led us to further research and to develop newthinking on stability and comfort at sea for this type of craft.  Extensive tank testing and radiocontrolled model tests in waves have been carried out to analyse stability and performance.Outrigger height has been optimised for ease of motion at sea, and a new outrigger shape has beendeveloped to increase stability in waves. We have undertaken a state of the art structural analysisof all the major components in the yacht in order to achieve the light weight required for very lowfuel consumption.  All this has resulted in the exceptional vessel that has recently been launched in 珠海.

Adastra's 16 metre beam creates a spacious saloon area on the main deck which offers superbviews through a panoramic window and accommodates a lounge area, dining table and navigationstation.  A forward facing door through the saloon window gives easy access to a large sunbed on theforedeck. The aft deck has a sofa and bar area to port and a dining area to starboard, further aftof this there is space for a 4.9 metre tender and directly below is a garage which can store a 3.1metre tender.  The garage door has been designed to fold out and create a large dive platform. Extra space has been created below deck by slightly flaring the central hull just above thewaterline. This area has been split into two sections with a full-width master cabin located aftwith access from the deck saloon, and two further guest cabins, accommodation for the crew, and thegalley located forward of the engine compartment.  Adastra offers comfortable accommodation for nineguests and up to six crew members.  The main helm station, which has seating for two, is positionedin a raised pilot house situated between the aft deck and the saloon area and forms part of thecross beam structure.





Finite element analysis






Extensive structural analysis of all parts of the yacht has been carried out, initially by White Young andGreen and later by ASTA. This was the only viable way to analyse a shape and structure as complex asthis. Simulations of loadings from side slamming, wave impact, and torsional effects of the outriggerriding through waves, were all applied to the computer model.

The superstructure is carbon fibre with Nomex honeycomb core, the hull is glass/kevlar foamsandwich and the interior is light weight oak cabinetry using honeycomb panels. To help reduceweight, virtually every aspect of the boat is custom built. This includes carbon fibre hatches,portlights, ladders and even hinges, which are all built specifically for the vessel.  

ASiMON_ integrated ships monitoring system monitors fuel, security, pump sensors, electrical, lights,etc.  The vessel has a fully automated fuel management system which includes an Alfa Laval systemfor cleaning the fuel.


The anchoring system is unique with three anchors all driven by carbonfibre drum winches run by hydraulics.  The primary anchor is a custom 130kg Bruce style anchor thatdeploys out of the starboard wing.  The second anchor is 80kg and deploys out of the bow with acarbon fibre arm.  The third anchor is 60kg which deploys out of the port wing and will be used as astern anchor.

从成部游艇的架构思路,以及效果图的画面上色风格,应该是珠海的工程师做的。

由此可见证我大粤造船工业能力。

英国佬 John Shuttleworth 应该系挂名的,无亲自参与设计,全部交晒比下面班「靓」做。

好多建筑工程事务所的「大班」都系咁。

从实际成品图片看,船头无疑问改短了好多,出于安全的考虑。
