如同白開水潤喉止渴朗朗上口的Singalongsong
2008/12/30 自由時報娛樂版刊載了一段方大同音樂創作的經驗談，提到他偏愛在農曆年前兩週密集地創作，而陪著他雞鳴則起從早到晚關在練功房裡的，有一把吉他、一架鋼琴，和一些白開水。前些時候，雪花糖透過廣播聽到Hi FM夜貓DJ丹尼斯老闆轉述華納工作人員與方大同合作的感想，說他就像一個準時交功課的模範學生，每天都會完成預定的工作進度交給唱片公司。
父親是職業鼓手，母親是填詞人如嵐，Soulboy方大同血液裡流動著與生俱來的音樂DNA。4歲學打鼓，5歲時受到50年代Rock'’n Roll傳奇歌手Ritchie Valens的傳記電影啟蒙，開啟了他的音樂視野；15歲自學吉他，18歲自學彈琴，生命與音樂密不可分的方大同尤其鍾愛50至70年代的懷舊藍調、靈魂等黑人音樂。由此看來，方大同具有如此龐大的音樂創作能量，除了天賦異稟的遺傳及環境耳濡目染，也來自每天每天嚴以律己的學習與規律生活。
在華納唱片的專輯網頁，大同提到他和音樂的關係是「當我在寫歌時和編曲時，我腦裏早已有一個完整清晰的影像，知道歌曲由頭至結束時我想要的聲音和感覺是怎樣，而這些創作多是回到70年代我喜愛的synths和電子鋼琴的音樂風格。」
Babyface的音樂令方大同踏上了創作之路，而就像黑人同胞擁有天生的音樂細胞和靈魂嗓音，方大同的音樂創作也彷彿是渾然天成，來自上天的禮物。日前在香港電台專訪裡，他提到【橙月】專輯的第一首歌《Singalongsong》就是這麼一首神來一筆的創作，因為這首歌從開始寫歌到完成，中間休息喝水，前前後後只花了30分鐘，就已經完成作曲、編曲，以及七成左右的歌詞。
這首信手拈來的《Singalongsong》，超強的MELODY就像偶然碰上的天降甘霖，或是一掬深山雪水，清澈透明毫無雜質。如人飲水，冷暖自知，這是一首讓人感受深刻的好歌，是方大同為你寫的歌，像喝白開水那般自然隨和，潤喉且滿足靈魂的渴，儘管敞開喉嚨跟大同一起唱著，無需忐忑。
