<P><FONT size=4>「蛤蟆」 is pronounced as 「HAA4 MAA4」 in most Cantonese dictionary and it's correct academically.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=4></FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=4>But in fact, Cantoners pronounce it as 「HAA1 MOU1」in the terms of「癩蛤蟆想食天鵝肉」&「蛤蟆功」.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=4></FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=4>Maybe It's caused by the miss of 「蝦毛」&「蛤蟆」 a few hundred years before.</FONT></P>
<P><FONT size=4></FONT> </P>
<P><FONT size=4>But Actually「蛤蟆」 is not a frequent term in Cantonese and we prefer to say 「蛤拐」or「蛤乸」. </FONT></P>
