粵人姓名中的「兒」字

<P>「兒」在北方話中讀音是er,因此在北方人的姓名中出現「兒」字,只是在語音上起一個兒化的作用,并不表意.</P>

<P>「兒」字的字意是兒男、兒子.在粵語中的讀音是yi,因此粵人用此字起名,則是取其意,而非語音上的附體.</P>

<P>粤人有用「儿」改名咩？或者有嘅，但系我就未听过噃！至少谂唔到识得边个阿「儿」。我有冇讲错？</P>

粤西的白话，就有很多「儿」，用在地名上的多。
