探針：中、美、越的「新三角關係」
人際間的三角關係固然撲朔迷離，饒有興味；國際間的三角關係同樣變化多端，不易捉摸，有的時候甚至比個人間的三角關係更教人驚嘆！七十年代初中、美、蘇之間的大三角關係不但改變了世界全局的勢力平衡，更改造了大量雙邊及多邊關係，更為大量官員、學者、企業締造了巨大的機遇。多得這個大三角，中國從徹底孤立的困局走出來，逐步重建與西方主流國家及日本的關係。多得這大三角，美國可以重整外交佈局，全力跟蘇聯抗衡。也因為有大三角，美國前國務卿基辛格成為外交史上的傳奇人物，老本一直吃到今天。
中、美、蘇七十年代的大三角關係當然矚目，當然有巨大歷史意義。中國、美國、越南在南中國海的三角關係近期也變得越來越有趣，越來越重要。
四十年前當美國跟越南血戰連場的時候，美國Ｂ 52轟炸機幾乎天天轟炸越南的大小城市，甚至用上混有落葉劑的炸彈，令越南不少地方久久不能復原。當時，中國是越南的重要盟友，蘇聯軍火、物資都經過中國運進越南，中國的大米、糧食同樣成了越南長期抗戰的本錢。那個時候，美越是死敵，中越是盟友，中美則仍若即若離。
到七十年代後期，越南在蘇聯縱容下出兵柬埔寨，儼然成為中南半島盟主，威脅着中國的西南腹地，形成一種鉗形的包圍形勢。為了遏制越南的氣燄，為了防止越南在中南半島進一步擴大，中國向越南發動有限度戰爭，全面跟越南決裂。當時中越成了死敵，美越則因美國協助中國而關係進一步冷凍。
到近十年中、美、越之間的你死我活仇恨關係結束，三國間的關係出現了非常微妙的變化。長期仇深似海的美國跟越南越走越近，美國國務卿希拉莉公開鼓勵越南及其他宣稱擁有南沙島嶼主權的國家以國際法及條約解決問題，暗中否定中國擁有南沙群島主權的說法。前兩天，越南官員更登上特意駛到南中國海爭議海域的美國航空母艦喬治華盛頓號，慶祝美越建交十五周年。
另一方面，中國跟越南雖已不再為七十年代末的戰爭耿耿於懷，但兩國從政府到政黨的關係都處於不冷不熱的狀態，在國際或區域上沒有甚麼合作，反而不時因南沙主權問題有齟齬。
可以說，經過四十年的變動，特別是近十年來中國的快速崛起，原本是死敵的美國跟越南開始越走越近，成了無形的戰略拍檔以約制中國的影響力，形成一個對中國不利的三角關係。若果中國不小心從事，反而進一步以經濟或軍事實力迫使鄰近國家承認南海是它的勢力範圍，那不但美國跟越南的關係會進一步加強，區內其他國家如馬來西亞、菲律賓、印尼、新加坡也會着力把美國拉進區內，讓美軍有更大的活動空間，以平衡中國的威脅。
