Depending where in the zodiac the eclipse occurs, stress is always placed on the matters governed by that sign, or sector of the zodiac.

......

Annular Solar Eclipse in Aquarius on January 26th, 2009

......

The Solar Eclipse often signifies the fall of the mighty, but in this case it also marks the auspicious new beginning for which the world is hoping. It activates his natal Jupiter (fortune; expansion) along with transiting Jupiter in Aquarius and the Moon's North Node. All this augurs well. Transiting Mars (action; passion; warfare) reaches his natal Saturn (restriction; responsibility; karma) on Jan 25, when he will be itching to set about reorganising the political situation, but may experience maddening delays and infuriating distractions, possibly of his own making! His enemies, both open and secret, will have their knives out. But enough of him.

Solar eclipses don't often pass over populated areas, but when they do, they appear to have significant disruptive effects on the people and nations concerned (e.g., economic or political crises, civil unrest). My colleague, Ian Thurnwald, points out that Solar Eclipses also seem either to trigger or amplify natural events in the regions they affect (e.g., severe weather, earthquakes). Whether this effect is an astrological one or not, is a moot point, though recent scientific work on the effects of the Moon on earthquakes and other terrestrial phenomena is interesting. No doubt they would hasten to deny any astrological effect! See my article on Moon Wobbles. The eclipse being in Aquarius means that people with Fixed signs (Aquarius; Leo; Scorpio; Taurus) featured in their birthcharts are more likely to be affected. The next eclipse of the Sun will be on July 22, 2009.

論2008.8.1之日全食

From:
http://horoscopicastrologyblog.com/2008/08/02/solar-eclipse-in-leo/

A solar eclipse occurred today in the tropical sign of Leo. Eclipses were traditionally seen as generally negative celestial omens since the luminaries which provide light and heat to the world are obscured during these times. For example, with the solar eclipse today the light of the Sun was completely blocked out and there was darkness in the middle of the day for a few minutes. The symbolism speaks for itself.

The early 5th century author Hephaistio of Thebes touched upon the meaning of eclipses briefly in the first book of his Apotelesmatics, apparently drawing on earlier Egyptian astrological doctrines which recent scholarship has shown to ultimately be derived from omens contained in the canonical Mesopotamian series known as the Enūma Anu Enlil.1 It is clear from Hephaistio’s writings that the earlier tradition that he was drawing on did not consider eclipses to be propitious astrological omens. Here is a sample of the introduction to his section on this topic that deals with the observed color of a given eclipse:

The ancient Egyptians recorded the effects that arise from eclipses, most of which we mention briefly as follows. For total eclipses, the color black signifies the death of the ruler and depression and famine and change; red, affliction of the land; whitish, famine and death for the herds; purple, war and famine; gold-like, pestilence and death.2

good posts, please continue[ 本帖最後由 enlighten 於 2009-7-31 08:36 編輯 ]
