其实喺鸦片流入中国之前，中国就经已有吸毒者嘞，不过呢班早期嘅瘾君子食嘅係「五石散」啫，「五石散」係由道教玄学创始人
何晏喺张仲景医伤寒病用嘅「寒食散」嘅基础上研制而成嘅，服用者一般亦都係道士，或爱好玄学嘅道友。服用五石散后，会兴奋发热，精神恍惚，并且非常容易上瘾。所以，后来「道友」就成为吸毒者嘅雅称。
