好多人以為廣東話係俗語，難登大雅之堂，小弟編是書正係為徂<A title=_ftnref2 href="http://null/#_ftn2" name=_ftnref2></A>說明香港廣東話歷史悠久，凝聚中西文化精萃，而今不單止受到歧視，重面臨滅絶危機，故此值得發揚推廣。
        香港廣東話值得保存推廣，原因有四 ：  <A id=more-137829></A>  廣東話好優雅<A title=_ftnref1 href="http://www.mocasting.com/main/hack/tiny_mce_2_0_5_1/blank.htm#_ftn1" name=_ftnref1></A>                                          曾焯文博士

        香港廣東話值得保存推廣，原因有四 ：  
一、 據網上版大英百科全書，世界各地用廣東話之人總共有七千五百萬，數量驚人，重多過好多歐洲國家嘅人口。  
二、 本港廣東話係中國同西方接觸最多忌<A title=_ftnref3 href="http://www.mocasting.com/main/hack/tiny_mce_2_0_5_1/blank.htm#_ftn3" name=_ftnref3></A>話，自十九世紀以來，吸收徂唔少英語文化，例如「科文」（foreman），而今好多香港人都唔知係外來話。  
三、 廣東話保留古音古字古文化，自秦始皇時代經巳有人講，歷史耐過普通話不知幾多。例如「諗計」之「諗」字早見於詩經〈小雅．四牡〉：「豈不懷歸，是用作歌，將母來諗。」又如「後生」崽就曾出自孔子之口：「後生可畏」。  
四、 廣東話有好多優美文學作品，例如十九世紀招子庸＜粵謳＞温文淒美；上世紀五十年代唐滌生〈帝女花〉盪氣迴腸，直追莎翁《羅密歐與茱麗葉》，張五常教授（二零零三）亦認為唐滌生應得諾貝爾文學獎。  
正如要學好英文不必犧牲中文，學好普通話根本毋須壓抑廣東話。本港學生學英文同普通話最大問題係毋<A title=_ftnref4 href="http://www.mocasting.com/main/hack/tiny_mce_2_0_5_1/blank.htm#_ftn4" name=_ftnref4></A>真實環境用有關語言。本港廣東先生叫廣東學生背英文生字或者漢語拼音並非真實語言環境。要學好某種話至有効方法係同用箇種話忌人向<A title=_ftnref5 href="http://www.mocasting.com/main/hack/tiny_mce_2_0_5_1/blank.htm#_ftn5" name=_ftnref5></A>日常生活中多多來往溝通。筆者本人有香港政府所頒英文普通話傳譯許可證，但毋上過一日普通話堂，筆者之普通話係同北京或者台灣學者交流學返來忌。  
再者，用普通語學同提高中文水準並無必然關係。中國三千年來都係用方言教學。魯迅用紹興話學中文，孫中山用廣東話學中文，毛澤東用湖南話學中文，渠等<A title=_ftnref6 href="http://www.mocasting.com/main/hack/tiny_mce_2_0_5_1/blank.htm#_ftn6" name=_ftnref6></A>的書面中文都不見得差。而今下絶大部份語文教學專家都認為母語教學至好，例如港大教育系David Watkins教授（二零零一）同港大課程發展主任Amy徐教授（二零零零） 都認為粵語最有利本港學生學習同思考。  
廣東話同普通話互相不相容之謬誤觀念會危及本港粵語地位同文化身份。據香港理工大學及中文中學雙語學系Robert Bauer（包睿舜）敎授（二零零二）預測：普通話成為教學語言後幾十年間，香港學生用粵語正式學讀書面漢語之傳統將失，粵文書刊出版將會萎縮，後生崽女將以粵語為恥，淨匚<A title=_ftnref7 href="http://www.mocasting.com/main/hack/tiny_mce_2_0_5_1/blank.htm#_ftn7" name=_ftnref7></A>屋企同老人家講，好似而今廣州恁，而九七後大陸人不斷湧入香港，更會化廣東話做本港少數派語言，到本世紀末，下世紀初，粵語甚至有絶種危機。  
據海德格（Martin Heideggar）（一九六二）指出，母語係人類存在模式，港人毋徂粵語即喪失文化身份，百年基業毁於一旦。本人故編是書，希望抛磚引玉，引起大家注意保存香港優雅粵語文化。  
謹此多謝新城娛樂台同博益出版社出版本書。其中林柏希先生同本人合作主持電台節目〈開心廣府話〉乃本書縁起；而蘆蘆小姐就負責製作；又同細蚊小姐將有關節目內容抄寫，每節加上得意梆子，渠等好好人，好有耐性。本書內文原本全用書面粵語出之，今由於出版社方針而改為文白粵交融。  書目
